User Psychology and Behavior Mining in Social Media

Professor Yoshinori Hijikata
School of Business Administration, Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU)

This laboratory studies social informatics. Especially we work on user behavior and their psychological features in degital communication media such as social media and social VR platforms. Social media as represented by Twitter, Facebook and Instagram consists of various kinds of data like text, pictures, movies, links, comments, tags, ratings, social relationships, and so on. These data can be seen as footprints of many people on social media. The deep analysis of the relationships among these data yields a new scientific frontier not only to computer science but also to social science, psychology and cultural anthropology.
